This page covers the website, email we send, ads and sponsored placements, and how we use information we collect. It is not legal advice.
What we collect
We collect what you give us and what the site and our vendors need to run.
- Email and signup — if you join the list, we collect your email, any name or other fields you enter, the time, the page you used, and that you checked the consent boxes.
- Messages — if you write to hello@sloppystakes.co or use a form, we keep what you send so we can reply.
- Device and usage — IP address, browser, device type, referring URL, pages viewed, and similar log data.
- Cookies and similar tech — needed to run the site, remember choices, measure reading, serve ads, and attribute signups.
- Vendors — email, hosting, analytics, advertising and similar tools receive what they need to do that job. Customer.io is the email vendor we intend to use.
We do not want information from children under 13. This site is not directed at children.
How we use it
We use this information to:
- Send newsletters, briefings, solo emails, product updates, and promotional offers.
- Send or display sponsored content, advertiser messages, and affiliate offers.
- Operate, secure, and improve the site.
- Measure what gets read and what converts.
- Personalize content, offers, and ads.
- Comply with law and enforce these terms.
You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time. Unsubscribe does not delete every record we already have.
Sharing, sale, and partners
We may share or sell personal information, including email and related signup data, with:
- Service providers (email, hosting, analytics, security, payment if we add it).
- Advertisers, sponsors, affiliates, and their agencies.
- Data and marketing partners.
- Anyone we must tell because of law, a dispute, or a sale or transfer of the publication.
If we share or sell your information for advertising or marketing, we will do it under this policy and any consent you gave on the form. Unsubscribe stops our marketing email to you. It does not automatically erase copies already held by a partner.
Advertising
We may run ads, sponsored units, and affiliate links.

If you check the box and join, you agree we may email you newsletters, solo emails, promotional offers, and sponsored or partner messages. We identify Sloppy Stakes and hello@sloppystakes.co as the sender. Every marketing email will have a way to unsubscribe.

- Ask us what we have, or to correct or delete it, at hello@sloppystakes.co — we may keep what the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep signup and email records while you are on the list and as long as we need them for the purposes above, backups, disputes, or law. We do not invent a fixed day-count.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top. Material changes to email or data-sale practices will be posted here.
